Three things to think about before buying a helmet
We always recommend that you try on a helmet before buying, so take a trip down to your local Sweet Protection dealer and try it on. We also have a 30 day free returns on our web purchases.
The most important thing when purchasing a helmet is that it fits your head well.
Here are 3 things to think about before purchasing
- What are you using the helmet for?
- Is it top-touring, freeride or park?
- What are your needs for your new helmet?
- Is it focused on maximal protection, less weight, volume or ventilation?
- Which helmet do you like the best?
- If you do not like the look of the helmet, you might not wear it. So it is important you like the helmet so you wear it when pushing those boundaries.
Can I add Clockwork WC vent covers to my Clockwork goggles?

Why does my DWR not last as long as my older Gore-Tex jacket?
Older Gore-Tex jackets had a strong but potent DWR coating that had great Hydrophobic and Oleophobic qualities. The industry found out that these DWR coatings had highly fluorinated chemicals which is great for water repellency but bad for the environment. There has been a shift in the industry over the last 10 years for brands to do better for the environment, and most brands committed to this.
The downside is that newer DWR coatings do not have great Oleophobic properties so this can cause oils, creams and other conventional liquids that we use on a daily basis get caught up in the material. This is why we recommend all of our customers to wash their jackets regularly to ensure that the DWR is maintained.

Can I attach a chin guard to my Rocker helmet?
We get a lot of inquiries about our Rocker helmet, if it is possible to attach a chin guard that is on our Rocker Full-face helmet. This is not possible.
Any modification made to the helmet will make the warranty void and Sweet Protection does not accept any responsibility for damage, injuries resulting from misuse or from a modified helmet.
What is RIG?
RIG stands for Retina illumination grading and is our own, in-house developed, proprietary lens technology. It is designed to help increase visual contrast in all conditions. The intention is to give true colour clarity while reducing distortion and fatigue caused by infrared and UV wavelengths.
It functions very differently from our competitor's technologies. Many of the competition's technologies reduce or manipulate the colours you see to increase clarity in specific conditions. RIG is intended to provide optimal clarity in as wide a variety of conditions as possible.
I have pressure points in my helmet, what do I do?
Pressure points are never a good sign with helmets, it can often lead to headaches and or migraines over time.
We do not advise removing or customising the EPS foam in the helmet and thus make the warranty void. More than likely it is the new helmet liner that has created these pressure points as it is not worn in, a tip for this is to place a comfort pad on the crown of the head inside the helmet. This will allow the helmet to size a millimetre higher on the head and possibly give relief to the pressure point.
If this tip did not work, then we recommend moving up a helmet size.
What should I do if I am in between helmet sizing?
Firstly, we recommend that you visit your local Sweet Protection dealer and try the different helmet sizes.
There are two things that could happen if you purchased the smaller sized helmet
- 1. You could possibly get a very snug helmet and might not need to adjust anything, by adding extra pads.
- 2. The helmet could be too snug, hence tight, creating pressure points around your head. Depending on your heads shape.
Choosing the slightly bigger sized helmet would be the better choice as in all our helmets there is extra padding included. This means you can pad out the helmet to suit your needs, in addition to the Occigrip, this creates a very good fitting helmet.
